Update on What's Up!

Wow, December is here, it's cold and dark, but still the gals are braving the elements to get rides in.  When we're not outside riding, we're inside spinning so we can maintain and grow our fitness for long distance rides.  BC Bike Race, you're always in our minds!

Wednesday headed out for a freezing cold Thrilla in Woodinville.  That's the ride where you leave the Red Hook Brewery, ride the Burke Gilman a ways, then climb out through the Redmond watershed, and so on.  Joe Martin, from team NRC/Kona was out and decided to join us.  Well, join us might not be the description, he led the ride on his single speed, and we raced through the night riding the Thrilla backwards, roundabout route up Heart Attack Hill, adding mileage on additional spurs.  Worn, ragged and with frozen toes, we made it back to the parking lot in 2 hours 40 minutes for our 21+ miles.  Thanks to Joe for letting us slow him down and giving us a great workout.   Looking forward to more cold/clear December workouts!

Also worthy of note is Angela's article on the I-5 Colonnade mountain bike park.  Check it out!

Hmmm....what else?  Kathy is finishing working through her base training and spinning madly every chance she gets.  Virginia just finished up the Seattle half marathon and has kind of set her eye on one of the Rock & Roll full marathons.  Katie - Katie continues to run, both after the kids and on the road.  The team continues to train and fundraise for the coming race.

Oh - and fundraising!  We are set for the auction benefitting the Breast Cancer Fund and the BC Bike Race or Bust fund.  The auction will be at St. Andrew's Bar & Grill on January 28th at St. Andrew's Bar and Grill.  More to follow on that in the next update. We have some great donations from some amazing companies!

Check out the new video of the current "big project" through Evergreen Mountain Bike Alliance...this one is on Duthie Hill.  They're continuing to make progress every week.  The most recent addition, a 360+ foot log ride.  That place is going to be a freeride rippers
dream.  Time to head back out there to check out the new updates.  In the meantime, check out this video!

Got a few rides coming up, all are  posted to the Evergreen Mountain Bike Alliance calendar under the WWTS (Women's Winter Training Series).  A couple this Saturday and the usual Wednesday night rides.  Hope to see you out there.

Oh and lastly, if you want to help input on the on the way rides are lead through the Evergreen Mountain Bike Alliance, fill out the survey!  We want to improve the experience but need YOUR input to do it!

Happy holidays and keep on riding!
