The auction is rapidly approaching! We're set for January 28th from 7PM until the goods are gone. We'll be at St. Andrew's Bar & Grill and we hope you can attend. Amazing sponsors have stepped forward to help us raise money for the Breast Cancer Fund and to help raise that $10K+ in entry fees for the BC Bike Race. This year, 50% of the proceeds will be donated to the Breast Cancer Fund. For those of you familiar with our history with the Breast Cancer Fund, you may remember that they are a 501(c)(3) that identifies and advocates for the elimination of the environmental causes of breast cancer. Breast cancer now strikes more women in the world than any other type of cancer except skin cancer. In the United States, a woman’s lifetime risk of breast cancer increased steadily and dramatically from the 1930s, when the first reliable cancer incidence records (starting in the state of Connecticut) were established, through the end of the 20th century. Between 1973 and 1998, breast cancer incidence in the United States increased by more than 40 percent. Today, a woman’s lifetime risk of breast cancer is one in eight. With statistics such as these, we are pleased contribute what we can to their efforts. The balance of the funds will be applied toward the BC Bike Race entry fees.
