Breast Cancer Fund - Auction Report!

Things have been a little crazy before and after the auction so here’s the quick report.  To date, with proceeds from the auction and some follow up sales at the Bike Swap, we have raised a little more than $6,000!  We had a great time with more than 120 attendees – most were invited guests but some walk-ins that willingly jumped into the fray and made purchases of auction items, raffle tickets, and I Heart Boobies t-shirts provided by Diamondback Bicycles.

HUGE thanks to those that donated products and help us put on another crazy, fun, and profitable event.  Please check the auction sponsor page   – there were some really amazing auction offerings including a Diamondback Sortie Black Frame, Cascade Bicycle Clubs STP entries, the Matthys’ cabin, a GoPro camera, tons of gear from Primal, Loeka, Rock Tape, POW, Nalgene, and the list goes on and on.

We also want to thank our friends and family for their support – without them showing up and shelling out their hard earned cash, where would we be???   Better throw in a thanks for their patience as we disappear for hours on end on rides, races and other events.  We are so fortunate and thankful for them as well.

Also – so pleased to continue to work with the Breast Cancer Fund  as our charity of choice – the work they do is so important.  Please check out some of the fruits of their labor at www.safecosmetics.org.  Check out your products and see how safe they are.  If you have a  little “extra cash” or are looking for a fundraiser beneficiary please consider them.  Their work identifying and advocating for the elimination of the environmental causes of breast cancer is crucial to the improvement in women’s health.

Lastly, we want to thank our sponsors; Sturdy Bitch MDJ Racing, Georgetown Beer , Big Tree Bikes , and Diamondback Bikes .  A special thanks to Diamondback Bicycles.  Not only did they donate the Diamondback Sortie Black frame, but they  made us these really cool I Heart Boobies t-shirts (we still have lots so drop us a line at seattlebikegurl @ g mail.com) – just $15 each.  Also, Jon Kennedy, Marketing Guru for Diamondback did a great job as the emcee-extraordinary – he covered the Breast Cancer Fund Mission – thanked and mentioned sponsors – promoted products to encourage bidding and picked tons and tons of raffle tickets.

We truly are blessed to be able to pursue the sport of mountain biking with a great team of women, amazing sponsors, and the support of lots of other people and organization.  Truly blessed.  Thanks  again for being a part of this, we love being able to ride, race, support our sponsors, and raise money for the Breast Cancer Fund.

Spring is coming – we hope to see you on the trails soon!
